Comma Jewelry Wire Earrings-- Jewelry Making ProjectComma Jewelry Wire Earrings on Ear - Jewelry Making ProjectIn the Helwig household we have a tradition.  Frequently Suzanne, will emphatically say something inaccurate and will ultimately do as the French say "manger ses mots".  She will have a word snack.  In short, she will have to eat her words.  These earrings are a case in point.  When shown these earrings for the first time, Suzanne's one comment was "They look great, but they will be painful to put on.  Let me show you."  At that point, she proceed to put these earrings on without a mirror and she had not a single problem.  See the picture at right, taken 2 minutes after she "proved" how difficult the earrings are to wear.  Can you say word sandwich?

These earrings are a modification to an earring design on the Harry Mason web site.  If you don't want to make the earrings for yourself, you can purchase them from www.harrymason.com.  Being mindful that their design is copyrighted, we modified their design enough that we don't believe we are infringing their copyright.  Since we don't sell finished jewelry we aren't trying to compete against their product.  This should not be an issue for people making jewelry for their personal use.  With that said, for our customers who do sell finished jewelry, we ask you to be mindful of the Harry Mason copyright and change the design enough that you won't infringe.  Comma Jewelry Wire Earrings with Beads

The Harry Mason Jewelry web site has a concept that they call "California Convertibles" where, for an earring like this, you can slide the beads off the earring and replace them with different beads.  We call this concept "Interchangeable Earrings" and Comma Jewelry Wire Earrings with Interchangeable Beadshave had a project making earrings using this concept for over 10 years.  We document this concept in the free portion of our web site here.  We also document it in an online book that we sell here.  You can view how this concept would work in the pictures left and right.  When we ask you to respect the Harry Mason copyright in the above paragraph, we do not refer to the interchangeable portion of the earrings.  We believe that we published that concept long before Harry Mason started selling these earrings.  Perhaps Harry Mason Jewelers has modified our copyrighted concept for their earring design.  If that is the case -- fine.  We want people to make and sell jewelry using our designs.

If you want a one piece earring that is interesting, easy to wear and easy to make then these earrings might be just the thing.
