Page 20  Duplex Wire Earrings with Beads Jewelry Making Project

Step H:  Our catch component is made with a 3/16 inch Super Peg (Peg 15), see the peg pattern below-left.  For a beginner or advanced beginner use pegs 14, 15 and 16.  Make a "P" loop in a 3 1/2" segment of the same wire you used to make your Triplex Wire Component.  Place the "P" loop on peg 14 and wrap the wire around peg 15 and 16 as shown.  For an intermediate wire worker, use peg 13 and wrap the loops made on pegs 14 and 16 closed.  The picture below-right shows the wrapped loops. 

Step I:  When you have completed the catch component and the clasp component, then use your figure 8 connectors or wrapped figure 8 connectors to connect the clasp and catch to the bracelet chain.  The finished bracelet can be seen above or below.

Alternative Designs:

The same bracelet can be made using the Duplex wire component (6 pegs instead of 8) shown at right.  The adaptations are small.  For Intermediate wire workers, the wrapped figure 8 connector is more difficult to make with the Duplex Wire Component.  You are probably better off using a regular figure 8 connector if you use the duplex wire component.  .
